A large client in the Columbus market is looking for a web implementation engineer to join the team full time after a 3 month contract. Any qualified candidate should apply within. The team delivers customized solutions that address the unique technology drivers of the CTR lines of business while ensuring that centralized products and services are leveraged for their economies of scale. CSI is the primary interface between the Application Development teams and Global Technology Infrastructure. In the role of Web Implementation Engineer, you will work with Solution engineering, on the integration and implementation of new application infrastructure capabilities specifically related to Web, DB and reporting technologies. You will be called upon to assess new technologies, provide engineering guidance, perform engineering tasks in development, QA and production environments to insure that a production ready application infrastructure is available, support the rollout of new applications into the target environment and act as SME support in troubleshooting situations. In this engineering role, you will work in small development and/or operational teams as needed. In this role, you will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the UNIX operating system in order to perform design, engineering and troubleshooting tasks. Due to the nature of this application infrastructure environment, you must also understand such cross-functional topics as application development, networking, and database servers. Qualifications: - Bachelor Degree in CS or equivalent work experience required - 2+ years of progressive experience in computing, development, client/server application integration and implementation - 2+ years and excellent knowledge of AIX/Linux/Windows operating systems. - 1-3years of experience supporting at least one of: Web Sphere, Apache/Tomcat, Web Logic, Jboss, Business Objects, PeopleSoft. - 1-3 years for Java/Perl programming knowledge. - Working knowledge of HTML, XML and scripting tools - Experience with successful implementations of highly scalable and highly available systems in a multi-tier environment - Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills - Strong system analytic ability and practice - Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment - Experience with infrastructure technologies such as TCP/IP, firewalls, packet routing/switching and load balancing
