Ticketmaster is looking for a web operations analyst to join their teams. This role is rather unusual and provides an amazing opportunity to get a birds-eye view of a huge web enterprise. This role offers exposure to multiple web technologies including LAMP, IIS/.NET, JBoss, Oracle, and MySQL. Web Operations teams work with a variety of operating systems, primarily Linux but also some Windows and some proprietary.
Ticketmaster produces a variety of software for marketing and selling tickets. These applications are typically large and complicated and require significant effort to maintain over and above the hardware and operating system. That's where we come in: Web Operations is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the software Ticketmaster builds. We configure the software, troubleshoot when something is broken, identify bugs, define how the software should be monitored, glean meaning from logs, and report to the business what the software is doing at any given time. This position is ideal for ambitious people aspiring to be systems administrators, DBA*s, or developers. Having systems administration skills or the ability to code will help. The team prides itself on creating tools to better support the applications, working from the premise *If something needs to be done more than once, automate it*.
