Position Description
RAND is seeking an experienced Web Producer to be responsible for managing content development and presentation for research unit and institutional web pages. This is a rewarding position for a web professional with high standards, broad web production skills, a strong attention to detail, and experience writing for the web. The individual in this position must give customer service and project management support to research units in support of their outreach objectives to key audiences. In so doing the individual must offer insightful business analysis and communications advice to a wide range of stakeholders with varying levels of web knowledge and experience.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain strong working knowledge of evolving web trends, technologies and best practices for content, including social media, SEO, push outreach, SharePoint, wiki, content management systems, mobile and micro content.
- Develop and update content, paying careful attention to the content lifecycle, and proactively reviewing content and making recommendations for changes or improvements to ensure all material is up-to-date and accurate, and opportunities to connect RAND content with decisionmakers are being realized. Integrate rich media, images and graphics within content.
- Produce summary content, tag content, build landing pages to feature people, projects and finding to engage audiences and drive traffic to key pages.
- Engage in ongoing client education regarding web services, strategies, policies and best practices.
- Define requirements, provide estimates, and oversee production and implementation in support of client projects and initiatives.
- Identify measurable initiatives to improve content delivery and search engine rankings for key content and key words, and measure, track, and report on impact using data and analytics software.
As part of a larger Web Communications Group, sharing information in a timely fashion and engaging in collaboration with colleagues and management will be essential.
