Web Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst Job in Washington 20037, District Of Columbia US

The Web Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for performing quality assurance testing for online products and platforms throughout the product development lifecycle. This position is responsible for reviewing and understanding online product specifications and enhancement requests; creating manual and automated test plans and use cases; executing test plans; communicating test results to project analysts, business owners, and external developers; submitting, tracking, and prioritizing defects and bugs with project analysts and vendors; and ensuring defects are resolved on schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Review project and development requirements to ensure requirements are clearly defined and testable.
2. Analyze requirements and documented use cases to ensure all functionality is well documented.
3. Design test strategy, test plans and test cases/scenarios for each website and platform.
4. Conduct formal test case review sessions with project team.
5. Execute manual test cases and automation scripts to ensure all functionality is performing as intended.
6. Communicate written test results to project team, business owners, and external developers.
7. Analyze and troubleshoot defects to investigate cause of defect.
8. Submit detailed, well-documented defects into a ticket-tracking system.
9. Manage overall status of tickets, prioritizing tickets, performing iterative testing, and ensuring all tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
10. Escalate issues to project analyst as needed.
11. Provide regular reports on testing and resolution status, including metrics.
12. Create testing and QA documentation for each product website and platform.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• Three to five years experience in quality assurance of consumer-facing websites
• Three or more years experience in end-to-end testing including integration and system testing
• Proven experience in writing SQL queries
• Two or more years experience with scripting or programming, preferably JAVA
• Two or more years experience of automated testing tools for websites, preferably Selenium RC /web driver
• Good understanding of HTML and CSS
• Proven experience in using test management tools preferably JIRA
• BS in Information Management or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Must be proficient with software, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience of working within an agile environment
• Good organizational, research and troubleshooting skills, the ability to balance and reconcile information, and the ability to search for and find the source of errors and anomalies in information.
• Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment.
• Detail and results oriented.
• Eagerness and ability to learn new skills, technologies, methods and procedures quickly and effectively.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• XML encoded content experience including XML Schema, DTD, and RelaxNG Schema content modeling and NLM, TEI and XHTML XML encoding practices.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders about XML encoded content and web-based platforms.
