Web Writer 
Federal Government department has a requirement for a Web Writer for an initial contract until 30 June 2012.  
  
As a Web Writer, you will be required to:   

  • Write document summaries for publication to the web;  
  • Coordinate and prepare web content from the department’s program areas;  
  • Coordinate and prepare web content for Corporate areas in accordance with the Information Publication Scheme requirements, and the FOI act;  
  • Liaise with in-country and Canberra based staff to identify and produce web content;  
  • Liaise with program and corporate areas to determine information that should be published;  
  • Support program areas at overseas posts to identify and develop information if required.  

To be successful in this role, you would need:  
  

  1. Proven ability to develop and deliver quality web documentation and content in tight timeframes.  
  2. Well-developed administrative skills with proven ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.  
  3. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in plain English  
  4. Experience producing content which meets the technical and legislative requirements for Australian government websites. In particular, a strong working knowledge of the requirements relating to the National Transition Strategy on accessibility is desirable.  
  5. Strong liaison skills across multiple sectors.  
  6. Broad understanding of aid and development issues
