General Dynamics IT has an immediate opening for a WebLogic Systems Analyst in New Orleans, LA.

The Analyst develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with company/customer system architecture standards.

Essential Functions Responsibilities:
Developer Duties
• Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and designs computer systems to process data.
• Analyzes systems and procedures to refine their formulation and converts them to programmable formats.
• Writes or updates software specifications.
• Creates logical data models based on functional requirements.
• Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.
• Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.
• Develops analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems.
• Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.
• Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems.
• Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.
• May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

8+ years of related software development experience.

Essential Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of Weblogic, Webcenter, their architecture, and how they integrate with the Oracle 11g Fusion suite
• Experience in deploying and maintaining ADF applications in a secure portal environment
• Extensive knowledge in identifying, planning, and executing performance and functional improvements in the configuration of WebLogic and Webcenter.
• Extensive experience in working with and designing web-based integrated systems.
• Extensive familiarity with testing, patching, and upgrading servers with the newest patches
• Advanced expertise in planning, performance tuning, and design future requirements
• Experience with performing ongoing monitoring, and reporting of current resource utilization levels, and errors in multiple environments
• Experience in implementing and maintaining system security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risks and implementing associated technical countermeasures
• Experience performing analysis trending of system performance data
• Experience building, maintaining and auditing documentation as it relates to configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, administration manuals, job instructions, support contacts etc.
Desired Qualifications (a plus)
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint - Access and Project
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems development.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry.

Successful candidate must be able to obtain and retain a Government security clearance. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90 day absence.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
