Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Welds together metal components as specified by layout, diagram, work order, welding procedures, using electric wire feed welding equipment;
Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece using wire brush, portable grinder.
May cut metal plate or structural shapes using oxy/acetylene torch.
May use bore repair equipment, SMA equipment and carbon arc equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Education, Experience, Skills, Aptitudes
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). (May be required to provide a copy.)
· Three (3) years of welding experience or one (1) year of technical training, or successful completion of the welding training program established by the Joint Management /Union Training Committee.
· Able to read and understand welding blueprints.
· Must pass an AWS certification test given by company. (Test consists of three parts: a workmanship test, welding test, and weld x-ray. Tests are completed on designated days only. PPE is required when taking this test.)
