Kelly is a national staffing organization specializing in offering the flexibility of temporary, temp-to-hire and direct-hire positions. We are currently working with one of our phenomenal leading manufacturing partners who is seeking a Welder. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work for a Fortune 500 company. This position is in Houston, TX The pay for this position will be $18-22/hr. The shift that is available is M-F 6 a.m.- 3 p.m. Responsibilities: -Provide welding support for all product manufacturing including ferrous and non-ferrous materials of various sizes, stainless steel sheet and rod. -Provide welding support for all plant activities including, maintenance, guarding, equipment repair, etc. -Assist in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of equipment. -Carry-out and complete PM worksheets (Preventative Maintenance) for general equipment maintenance. -Perform raw material receiving and inspection, material dispositions, supplier feedback, quality checks. -Operate various types of mill equipment to assist team with operations to successfully manufacture MI cable. COMPETENCIES REQUIRED : -Team player, can work with people from diverse backgrounds. -Learn-on-the-fly, adjust schedule accordingly and change plans as required. -Good mechanical aptitude, hands-on, understands manufacturing methods and maintenance. -Solid experience with TIG welding methods. Other welding methods (MIG) a plus. and different filler materials / weld wire. -Solid experience with various types of welders. -Methodical and detailed oriented. -Proactive, not afraid to jump in or stay until the job is done .Flexible work hours per schedule, weekend work at times, late nights .Proven track record of successfully welding intricate parts, uncommon materials and high visibility products. -Understanding of NDT and inspection methods including x-ray and dye penetrate. -Must have an understanding of plant safety and conform to various safety policies and procedures (SOP's and JSA's), develop procedures for welding criteria, and promote a safe work environment. EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: -5-10 years welding experience required. -Weld Certification preferred, but not required. -High School Diploma (higher education or training preferable). -Computer skills desired in Excel, Word and Outlook. -Must be a self motivated individual with little need for supervision. -Needs to be able to thrive in a team environment. -Knowledge and experience welding a variety of materials using TIG welding. -Ability to learn new welding techniques and perform delicate welds with or without filler material.
