Chevron's Midcontinent Alaska Business Unit (MCA) is accepting online applications for Well Site Managers (Company Representatives) to work in land based locations throughout the region.

MCA manages Chevron's onshore oil and gas production assets in the central Lower 48 states in the contiguous U.S., extending from Wyoming to south Texas, as well as its onshore and offshore assets in the Cook Inlet and North Slope regions of Alaska. MCA is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with major offices in Midland, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska, and produces roughly 250,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOED). The business unit operates crude oil and natural gas-producing assets in eight states, and is also involved in numerous non-operated joint ventures throughout the U.S., which account for roughly 30 percent of total business unit production.

The Well Site Manager is responsible for supervising the initial completion, workover and intervention operations in various land based field locations throughout the US with specific focus on Operational Excellence including Health Safety Environmental compliance, Risk Management, Reliability and Efficiency. Operations are often executed in environmentally sensitive areas that have numerous complexities including simultaneous operations, complex fishing and remedial operations and remote onshore operations. The primary goal is to meet all pre-defined well objectives while maintaining an Incident Free Operation.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Manages on site day to day operations on completion, workovers and interventions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Works in a team environment to ensure the safety of all personnel on location and compliance with all applicable government regulations and Company policies.
  • Manages day to day activities of rig contractor personnel and third party contractors.
  • Manages logistics for personnel and equipment to and from location.
  • Provides accurate daily reports to superintendent utilizing Company's reporting system (WellView).
  • Maintains accurate cost control.
  • Active involvement and continuous support for onsite safety programs and initiatives.
  • Mentoring of less experienced personnel

    Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Accredited GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years rig experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision of workover operations. (Military leadership experience may be considered in lieu of well site supervisory experience.)
  • Strong communication skills are imperative.
  • Applicants must be able to successfully complete Chevron's IADC certified Well Control training in order to achieve certification for well control. Failure to successfully pass the Company's Well Control training may lead to dismissal.
  • Strong emphasis on safety of personnel and assures compliance with all applicable environmental regulations policies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • A 2 year technical degree (or greater) in petroleum technology or similar field of study
  • IADC Well Control Certificate (or equivalent) is preferred, but can be obtained by successful applicant after hiring via Company's Well Control training.
  • Experience in personnel mentoring training.
  • Horizontal drilling experience

    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. In some instances willingness to relocate will be a requirement.
