Windows Administrator
Unique Opportunity for a Windows System Administrator to Work with a Top-Tier Hedge Fund and Gain Experience in Infrastructure Management!
A top-tier hedge fund requires a Windows System Administrator to be involved in an exciting, fast-paced office who can get involved in Networking (Network design, firewall rules, Cisco routers, layer 2 3 switches, TCP/IP, VPN, etc), vendor management, and other areas of IT Infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Support with at least 1 year in Trading ⁄ Finance environment
- Degree holder in Computer Science or related discipline
- Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be well-organized and able to work independently
Technical Skills:
- Experience in Microsoft Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2007/2010, SQL server and IIS administration
- Experience in Networking – Network design, firewall rules, Cisco routers, layer 2 3 switches, TCP/IP, VPN, etc
- Experience in managing vendors and service providers
- Expertise in deployment and maintenance of PC hardware and software
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows XP/7 and Office 2003/2007/2010 suites
- Experience in working with market data systems such as Bloomberg
- Experience in VMWare ESXi
- Experince in Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure
- Experience in Blackberry Enterprise Server installation and administration.
- Experience in Symantec Backup Exec.
- Knowledge in programming and scripting
- MCSE/MCITP and CCNA/CCNP an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Server and network administration
- Act as internal escalation point for 3rd party systems and vendors’ point of contact
- Support users in local and remote offices
- Ensure the stable and fluent running of IT infrastructure in short and long terms
- Maintenance of server room (CRAC, UPS, etc)
- Maintenance of DR infrastructure and conduct regular DR tests.
- Ensure backup systems are functioning properly and media is stored securely offsite
- Proactively communicate and align projects and tasks with the changing business requirements including hardware and system procurement.
- Manage project and maintenance schedules to agreed deadlines and within budget
- Technology planning and IT cost analysis
