About the Job
The ideal Candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience in managing and monitoring Windows Server environments.
- Proven experience in the design, setup, and configuration of Windows Servers.
- Demonstrated abilities in complex troubleshooting, high availability systems and capacity planning in a production environment is required.
- Production experience with Windows 2003/2008 server, IIS, Microsoft Operations Manager, and SAN attached systems in an enterprise environment required.
- Experience with Windows 2008, Clustering, VMWARE, Microsoft SQL, System Center, EMC Hitachi Storage Foundation, and NAS solutions is required.
- Versatility is key measure to the success of this position. Demonstrable versatility between the technologies mentioned above will be a plus. Additionally, candidates with versatility in the areas of Storage Management, Performance / SLA Management (or) Database management will succeed in this position.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the business and the application.
- Candidates who have done work engineering solutions for the business will be successful in this position.
Skill Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience building, administering, monitoring and managing Windows Server environments.
- At least 3-5 years of experience with performance management using tools such as Microsoft Operations Manager.
- Capacity Planning skills would be a plus.
- Over 5 years of experience with high availability and Disaster Recovery using technologies such as Microsoft Cluster Services and SRDF is a must.
- Over 5 years of experience automating activities using VB, WMI, or batch scripting is a necessity.
- At least 3 years of experience utilizing HPSA/Opsware for Windows server management, including patching and configuration management.
- At least 5 years of experience utilizing Active Directory Group Policy Objects
- Demonstrable experience with the administration or setup of SQL Server is a plus.
- Demonstrable skills writing best practice documentation and solution documents are a necessity.
- Demonstrable leadership skills such as managing time, managing meetings and verbal communication skills are a must.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/systems environments performing systems planning, architecture design, engineering (hardware and software) and optimization around Microsoft SharePoint
