My client is a leading Financial Hedge Fund and Research company looking to hire a Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join their systems infrastructure team. The company is driven by technology, using cutting edge technology to maintain a competitive edge, therefore innovation, optimisation and research are all key. The role will centre around project work within the windows infrastructure environment, including upgrades, server infrastructure and implementation.
The candidate should ideally have a strong academic background, with a 2.1 degree or above from a well respected institute. This role requires a strong background in Systems Administration/Engineering, preferably within a financial environment, for example in investment banking, hedge fund or asset management companies.
The important skills and experience required for this role include:
Strong Windows background, including Active Directory, Server 2003 - 2008, Exchange. Also important Scripting skills, including Powershell/Perl ideally.
Strong problem solving and high performance computing solutions.
Desirable skills include: Networking, VMware, SAN management and server and storage hardware knowledge.
Candidate will be a self starter, be task orientated with attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills as well as technical knowledge and have a clear desire to succeed. Salary will depend on experience and skills and is by no means restricted to the range quoted for the right person.
