Windows/Network Senior Systems Administrator

The position be best suited to a Windows systems administrator who has also had experience of Cisco networking configuration and concepts but who is looking to expand their knowledge into other areas. The successful applicant will need to show enthusiasm for learning other technologies including Red Hat Linux and virtualisation.

Overall Purpose of Job

• To take ownership and provide smooth operations for Windows server and network infrastructure for 400 users across 3 offices.
• Educate and liaise with junior system administrators.
• Limited shift work (early/late, occasional Saturdays, no nights or Sundays)
• Day to day support of all Windows corporate servers and various network devices.
• Must be able to travel to the Chiswick office when on call

Education, Qualifications and Special Training
• Educated to degree level

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
• Minimum 4 years experience as a senior system/network administrator in Windows 2003/2008.
• Installation and maintenance of Active Directory
• Roll out and management of Group Policies
• Windows Anti Virus, roll out and management
• Experience of corporate WSUS deployment
• Knowledge of deploying PC's using WDS
• Windows print server, setup and maintenance
• Cisco ASA, Switches (2950, 3560), SSH, LAN/WAN/Wireless,
• Understanding of VPN setup and troubleshooting
• MySQL, MS SQL,
• Thorough grounding in storage and networking concepts and techniques
• Server, PC, storage and networking hardware

Desirable
• Linux - Red Hat/Ubuntu - installation, administration, support and troubleshooting
• Apache2, Squid, SVN, CVS, Bind9, Bacula, NTP, IMAP Server,
• IPTables
• Storage: NAS/SAN, NFS, Samba
• Database: Informix, PostgreSQL
• VoIP: AASTRA
• Disaster Recovery Business Continuity
• Project delivery
• Monitoring tools including Nagios
• Samba, OpenLDAP, Kerberos, BIND/DNS
