About the role
The incumbent will be responsible for IT support to the Capital Markets division, proactively ensuring the platform is well managed, providing an effective delivery of mission critical applications to the critical markets division.
Responsibilities will include:
- key point for order/helpdesk support issues within Capital Markets Hong Kong, responsible for ensuring efficiency, assignment, completion and executions of the request on a timely basis
- provide solutions to business requirements as dictated by the BCP exercise and document the related IT recovery requirements
- provide application support to designated applications with other local IT Manager to ensure systems are in good working order and coordinate releases with vendors as designated.
- support and Project Manage relocations and desk moves, ensuring communication to business and successful implementation
- work with the managers, local and regional, ensuring Capital Market standards are adhered to in related sites as well as provide application support to Hong Kong and Beijing where required
About the person
To succeed in this role you must have the ability to manage yourself effectively and possess the following skills and experience:
- strong WINTEL platform (both desktop and server) administration skills and five to seven years of experience supporting related infrastructure / applications in a financial trading environment - with trade floor support experience being a must
- knowledge of LAN / WANs, Firewalls, MarketData / Dealing systems, IPC Turrets, Blackberry-RIM, Unix Admin, web applications and W2K / Exchange server
- market knowledge (trading / settlements) in the following areas FX / Fixed Income and Derivatives are essential in order to support the environment well
- experience in Information Security / BCP / ITIL standard practices desirable
- excellent communication skills with both users and suppliers and ability to take on 1st to 3rd level support
