The Fulfillment Center Wireless Engineering team is looking for a Wireless Survey Engineer to design WiFi Infrastructure layouts for FCs worldwide. In this key role you will liaise with the groups responsible for new site builds, physical installation, site upgrades and expansions, technology vendors and IT support teams to achieve a common goal of building world class wireless networks. This team is fast paced and works on exciting projects with requirements that few others face. We work closely with our internal customers, external client device vendors and external infrastructure vendors to support thousands of clients per building with densities rivaling football stadiums and uptime requirements that rival health care to ensure that our customers have the best possible experience. Your responsibilities will include: Provide RF survey expertise, predictive designs and support for new buildings, re-designs, and life cycle projects Assist with setting standards for RF coverage based on environment and client requirements Work on kaizen projects to improve our processes for wireless infrastructure deployment and maintenance Work with software teams to develop tools that automate the deployment and monitoring of wireless infrastructure Conduct lab work to validate and approve RF client/infrastructure devices Work with professional services vendors around the world for validation survey work and remote hands work Travel to domestic and international Amazon sites to perform large scale testing work, meet with vendors and customers and provide training to remote staff Work with traveling survey teams to define standards and methodologies to provide efficient and accurate designs Work closely with internal and external CAD groups to produce Autocad based design documents Basic Qualifications Strong background in RF engineering, with at least 3 years of survey experience Experience with complex wireless infrastructure in dense deployment environments Possess superior technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communications skills Expert knowledge of Airmagnet Surveyor software Basic knowledge of AutoCad and Cisco Spectrum Expert Bachelorrsquo;s degree from an accredited university Ability to travel up to 30% to domestic and international locations Preferred Qualifications In depth experience with and knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n standards Expertise with automated radio management technologies Excellent organizational and project management skills Previous experience in which high levels of initiative, judgment, and tact has been demonstrated Cisco Network Certifications (CCIE Wireless, CCNP Wireless)
