CCH is has an exciting new opening for a Data Analyst to join our Strategic Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have 6 months of working experience or college internships at a strategy consulting or private equity firm and (or equivalent background). Leveraging their modeling and data expertise, advanced communications skills, and problem solving abilities, this person will drive projects that add value to our company by chartering new Tax and Accounting products and services in collaboration with all business units. This position provides a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the strategic direction of the global leader of Tax and Accounting providers and a highly innovative company.

 

Position Summary
Responsible for modeling and analyses that will help define the company's business strategy, the Analyst will gather, analyze and interpret data, and will also evaluate key decisions by projecting expected economic impacts. The role will work both independently and collaboratively (with key stakeholders from across the organization) on several projects simultaneously and be a thought partner for the leaders of the group regularly interfacing with leaders throughout the company. In addition, the Analyst will perform market research, will help develop solutions to operational and other qualitative issues, and will generate reasonable assumptions in the absence of hard data. Overall, the Analyst’s work will have a significant impact on strategic decisions and the development of Tax and Accounting initiatives. This position will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

•Perform advanced quantitative analyses (spreadsheet modeling, data analysis, etc.)

•Monitor and evaluate program processes and results to determine impact, communicate outcomes, and identify areas for improvement
•Develop presentations to communicate findings, illustrate key insights, and influence decision-makers
•Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to determine key data needs, define assumptions, and share results
•Execute qualitative research and problem-solving, such as market research, operational processes, and systems interaction
•Very strong analytical and problem solving skills and experience; this position will involve both modeling and database analysis.
•Advanced skills with spreadsheets, databases and presentation software, including a strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access
•Must be able to identify implications of the analyses and determine their impact on strategy.
•Ability to work collaboratively within the team and with other teams to gather inputs, overcome obstacles and share results
• High level of personal initiative; must be able to work independently without extensive supervision
• Work effectively with stakeholders, shared service groups, peers, team members and other departments to accomplish company and departmental objectives
•Participate in data analysis projects as a part of confidential initiatives including organizational strategy, product strategy, and mergers and acquisitions
•Excellent communication and writing skills
•Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed and meeting deadlines
•Understanding of enterprise economics preferred (costs, profitability drivers, industry dynamics)
• Document existing processes, identifying gaps and providing remediation plans for the processes
• Be involved in design, development, and maintenance of multiple ad hoc queries
• Identify data dependencies and data integration points and collect business metadata
• Participate in analyzing business processes, relational database modeling, dimensional data modeling, and database design

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or other field OR equivalent related work experience

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

• MBA

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:     
Requires a minimum of 6 months of strategic data analysis and analytical expertise with preferred working experience or college internship in one or more of these areas:
• Tax and accounting industry
• Software and information services industries
• Expert Excel skills (pivot tables, v-look ups)
• 6 months of professional statistics experience
• SQL Development (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, SSRS, queries, etc.)
• Knowledge of advanced research designs used for market research: predictive modeling, market segmentation

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Experience communicating effectively with the ability to present results to all levels of the organization including senior management.

• Experience writing effectively to understand, concise reports, with the ability to summarize large amounts of data into manageable / actionable content.
• Experience carrying superior analytical reasoning and oral communication skills
• Experience working independently and within a dynamic team
• Experience with the ability to see the big picture from individual data pieces
• Experience absorbing large amounts of information in a high energy, fast-paced environment
• Experience detail oriented; able to multi-task; strong organizational skills
• Experience with the ability to be resourceful, not afraid to ask questions
• Experience possessing patience; ability to adjust changing priorities
• Experience with Internet research
