POSITION PROFILE

As a member of the BI Team the primary focus of this position is to develop BI solutions using the MicroStategy BI platform. The Business Intelligence Architect will be involved in all phases of the BI solution development, and will develop reports, dashboards, and mobile BI applications as needed for a solution. This resource will have strong communication and client service skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Participate in requirements analysis and story boarding sessions with business users
§ Prototype BI solutions and assess their “fit-for-use”
§ Develop and implement MicroStrategy schema for optimal query performance
§ Design effective in-memory BI strategies to meet performance expectations and business functionality
§ Develop reports, documents, dashboards, and mobile applications as needed to meet business requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor Degree required, or equivalent. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or related area. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience: 2 - 3 years experience in the use of the MicroStrategy BI platform version 9 with proven experience in the use of the following capabilities:
• In-memory solutions such as OLAP and Dynamic Sourcing
• Hands on Dashboard development in mobile applications.
• Mobile application development
• Query Optimization
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
1. Strong knowledge of the MicroStrategy BI platform version 9
2. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
3. Ability to work within an agile development environment
4. Creative and innovative in the use of technology to meet business functionality
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Excellent analysis and documentation skills.
7. Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Occasional after-hours tasks and consultation required.

Preferred 5 years overall. V9 since 2008. Other BI experience. Cognos. Certified preferred. What exposure to other BI tools.
