The Professional Education business group, under the Lippincott Williams Wilkins www.LWW.com brand, publishes critical information, including many of the world's leading textbooks, reference tools and related products published for medical, nursing and other health professionals and students. LWW provides essential information for healthcare professionals in print and electronic formats, including textbooks, journals, CD-ROM, and via Intranets and the Internet.

 

Under the direction of the VP of Customer Service, the Training Manager will oversees the development and updates of the training curriculum by conducting assessments and evaluating performance results.  The curriculum is developed using Accelerated Learning and Adult Learning Principles.  Oversees the delivery of curriculum to new hires and employees of WKH and any vendor's staff as well as after-classroom monitoring and coaching for 30 days after the training;  develops a close working relationship with the marketing department so that knowledge of new products, programs, and/or promotions are obtained prior to the roll-out or introduction; provides development training to the leadership team as needed; monitors Quality Assurance to ensure that the appropriate number of monitors take place, that timely feedback is being given, and that training needs are identified and addresses either as one-on-one or in group settings.  Information obtained from the QA program is used to upgrade the training materials and delivery.

 

 

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

 

·         Delivers group and individual instruction and training on products and systems supporting WKH

·         Works closely with managers, supervisors, QA, and marketing teams to determine needs and strategies

·         Develops training curricula and/or recommends or utilizes vendor programs that meet instructional methods using the Adult Learning and Accelerated Learning Principles

·         Provides development training to leadership team as needed

·         Formulates training outlines and determines instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods

·         Selects or develops training aids as appropriate, (learning exercises, handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, reference works)

·         Performs administrative functions to deliver and document training programs

·         Measures and evaluates effectiveness of training programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods

·         Completes reports and provides analysis of data

·         Configures and maintains the Training Room to optimize the training experience

·         Manages the associates who administer the QA program to ensure that all associates are receiving the appropriate number of monitors and feedback throughout the month

·         Evaluates the QA feedback to uncover training needs or changes to the materials

·         Provides QA statistics for the associates' scorecards

·         Works closely with the Instructional Service Director in the implementation of marketing plans and developing training strategies

·         Participates in Management Meetings

·         Assists Managers and Supervisors with side-by-side monitoring, scoring, and feedback

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field

 

3-5 years training experience in fulfillment and/or in publishing teaching and facilitation skills including:

 

·         Ability to determine training objectives

·         Ability to provide needs assessment

·         Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology

·         Skill in preparing instructional aides and plans

·         Superior MS Office skills including PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·         7+ years training experience in fulfillment and/or in publishing teaching and facilitation skills

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients.

·         Must be able to develop strong professional relationships.

·         Ability to influence people who have a direct impact on Customer Service

Travel Requirements: up to 25%
