Women’s Domestic Violence Services
New Legislation Intervention Orders (Prevention ofAbuse) Act 2009 commences 09 Dec 2011. This Act is intended to improve the system of restraint and intervention for both domestic and non domestic abuse.
Women’s Domestic Violence Services will provide the service of a Women’s Safety Contact Officer to protected person(s), experiencing domestic violence and whose partners (or ex-partners) are involved in an Abuse Prevention Intervention Program.

3 Full time positions
- 1 at Northern Domestic Violence Service
- 1 at Eastern Adelaide Domestic Violence Service
- 1 at Southern Domestic Violence Service
Women’s Safety Contact Officers will be a key point in providing the protected persons perspective as part of the ongoing risk management process with the defendant.
Key functions of this role will include:
- Domestic Violence Counselling
- Case Management
- Safety Planning
- Advocacy
- Building collaborative partnerships The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of domestic violence issues and knowledge of local resources, working collaboratively with key partners using strengths based interventions to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. Tertiary qualifications desirable, but appropriate qualifications/experience will be considered.
Salary Range: $50,044 - $52,892 p.a.
