Security Clearance: Public Trust
REQUIRED
- Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
- At least TWO (2) years of word processing experience, including one year in the specific office automation environment (e.g. WordPerfect Office, Microsoft Office, JCON, etc.).
- Must be able to type a minimum rate of 65 wpm with an accuracy rate of 95%.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and WordPerfect Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to produce highest quality of work under extreme pressure, very important.
- Lifting/carrying of small items.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
DESCRIPTION
This position will be in support of the Civil Rights Division. The employee will work under the direct supervision of an assigned Supervisor.
The employee will perform such duties as follows, but not limited to:
- Types, edits and corrects a variety of correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, briefing charts, tables, and other documents as required
- Assure proper format, spacing and typographical accuracy of final product.
- Proofreads, edits and corrects OCRed text files.
- Backs up files as prudent.
- Performs quality control over own work and work of peers.
- Performs simple maintenance on office machines [i.e. printers, fax machines, etc...].
- Organizes and maintains correspondence files.
- Works fairly independently; does not require constant, close supervision.
- May serve in a coordinating role for a pool of Word Processors, monitoring workload and progress, and performing quality control.
- Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED
- Experience working in a government and/or legal environment
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Proficient in the use of keyboards in producing clear and concise documents.
- Current or active clearance.
