POSITION PROFILE
The WorkBrain Systems Analyst / Development Lead will be a key contributor in the development, customization, systems integration, and production support for the WorkBrain v5.0.5.3 customer platform. Facilitate WorkBrain integration with other critical systems such PeopleSoft, employee / manager self-service portal, content management, collaboration tools, client and 3rd party hosted systems that support Aon Hewitt's full HR service delivery. Play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of HR outsourcing services to our Fortune 500 client base.
- Accountable for maintaining the timely delivery of WorkBrain and other supported applications throughout the product suite. Adhere to rigorous code development standards, architectural framework, and by following project management requirements / reporting methodology.
- Will act as the primary interface with:
-------Systems Analyst / Product Support (peer-level counterpart)
-------Business Analysts: Assist in defining front-end business requirements for WorkBrain customizations, performance / process enhancements, new interfaces and reporting requirements changes; assist in determining project scope, estimating effort, and determining duration.
-------Off-shore development team: oversight for development, upgrades and enhancements.
-------Operations team: responsible for the operation of customers' timekeeping tools.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of WorkBrain core functionality offered, including migration, integration and scheduling tools.
- Translate business requirements and functional designs into a technical design documents (TDD) for system changes, defect fixes, etc.
- Oversee the development of application code, user interface, and third-party integration components for the core WorkBrain product. Some hands-on development (WorkBrain API and Java).
- Conduct unit system testing in adherence to predefined quality assurance standards.
- Travel Requirements: Less than 5% per year.
- Position Functional / Time Breakdown:
-------50%: Work closely with Business Analysts to define requirements and translate functional designs into a technical design documents.
-------30%: Oversee the work of the offshore team to ensure quality development, application enhancements, bug fixes and testing. Will perform some hands-on coding and scripting.
-------20%: WorkBrain production support, defect resolution and system integration configuration.
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other related technical curriculum strongly preferred.
- 2+ years experience in WorkBrain API development, customization support essential.
- Strong Java, XML, JavaScript, HTML development skills in web client and server based technologies.
- Experience developing solutions for data interfacing (including flat files, XML JDBC) preferred.
- WorkBrain data migration tool (supports configuration migrations) preferred.
- Experience with development principles and methodologies strongly preferred.
- ANT, JDK, Eclipse, and creating Java Ear files preferred.
- Unix Scripting and Oracle or other RDBMS system with SQL experience (Structured Query Language) preferred.
- Experience supporting /configuring WorkBrain time clock readers (virtual / physical) a plus.
- Experience working with code repositories for team collaborative development a plus.
- Experience with version control and release management principles is highly desirable. Subversion (SVN) and Visual SourceSafe (VSS) preferred.
- Cognos BI reporting (Workforce Performance) development experience using WorkBrain data model preferred.
- Experience with Unix shell scripting desirable.
- Must have strong analytical skills with experience troubleshooting technology issues as part of a global virtual team providing 24x7 production support.
- Experience interacting with infrastructure support resources during joint troubleshooting sessions preferred.
- Ability to communicate technical problems to a non-technical audience and HA leadership team is highly desirable.
