WSS Risk Manager recruitment
Position Summary
Risk The role reports directly to the WSS APAC Risk Executive, and will be responsible for the two primary functions (a) risk reporting and committee management for WSS APAC Risk (b) junior risk coverage for credit and operational risk in Asia Ex Japan and India.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Monthly reporting packs for WSS APAC and WSS Asia Ex, involving co-ordination, power point skills, managing to tight deadlines, for WSS APAC Risk Executive.
- Co-ordination of New Business Initiative Approval Committee in APAC, managing workflow, acting as secretary for committee, producing minutes and actions, ensuring NBIs are processed and approved in a timely basis
- Ad hoc business analyst projects, assisting the WSS APAC Risk team that comprises 15 people
- Provide effective cover for Risk Officers in Asia, on an ad hoc and periodic basis, within 12 months.
- Train up in risk disciplines including Operational, Credit, Reputational, Fiduciary, Market et al risks, with a view to provide coverage, initially, but a career path in Risk, ultimately.
- Train up on WSS products in APAC, centered around Custody, Fund Accounting and Execution Services.
Skills
Experience / Qualifications / Knowledge:
- Financial services background required, with at least 3 years experience in the securities industry
- Background of strong business analytical skills within the finance industry
- Strong PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills mandatory
- Outstanding leadership and influencing skills
- Proven management and partnership skills
- Proven strategic thinking, analysis and reporting skills
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Experience in interacting with global partners and senior management across the organization
- Professional degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting preferable
