WSS has launched an effort to transform software quality at the firm. This effort is anchored in each Line of Business by a dedicated Quality Assurance team of specialized resources who will outline and establish the positions, processes and controls necessary for a 21st century Quality Assurance culture.The Automation Architect is a key member of this team that will influence and drive process improvement across the firm in each Line of Business working closely with key LOB partners and FEA.

Role Description:The Automation Architect will possess the leadership, change management, and business planning skills required to successfully implement the firm wide QA strategy.
This role will facilitate strategic automation initiatives within the line of business by designing and implementing the automation architecture best suited for the associated applications.
The Automation Architect will be skilled in test automation and will drive the organizational test automation strategy.
The Automation Architect will work closely with the Quality Assurance Architect and partner with the LOB Quality Control Director and aligned teams.
The Automation Architect will also work closely with Firm wide Engineering and Architecture in order to advance firm wide Quality capabilities.
Responsibilities:Develops Automation vision and roadmap for the LOB.Creates Target state Automation Architecture; shares long-term automation architecture with large audiences on a regular basis.Is a leader in identifying critical, high pay-off automation strategies and prioritized implementation efforts accordingly.Provides direction to App Dev, QA, and Performance Engineering teams to ensure strategic automation targets are achieved.Expert in aligning test automation strategies with all SDLC methodologiesResponsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced automation developers and testers.Analyzes complex LOB initiatives and systems and is able to define strategies to automate testing
across complex LOB initiatives and systemsActively monitors Cost of Testing for LOB and delivery solutions to drive Total Cost of Testing downPossesses advanced knowledge of Automation strategies and industry tools.
Evaluates industry solutions for applicability to LOB needsCritical Skills:Expert in Automation strategies and methodologies (e.g. key word driven, data driven)Advanced understanding of LOB application architecture and interfacesProficient in multiple Automation technologies; (inclusive of experience in implementing the HP toolset -BPT, QTP)Expert identifying automation opportunities, designing and implementing automation solutions.Expert in aligning automation strategies with all SDLC methodologiesExpert in managing Automation
ROI metrics, in support of planning , tracking and managing
automation efficienciesTrains/mentors others in automation strategies and deliverablesConsult and directs technology partners in remediating findings in support of automation assessments, LOB test processes and tool support.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in testing practices, and opportunities to automate or consolidate test practices throughout the SDLC.

professional IT or Quality experienceProven experience in software development lifecycle and
