WSS has launched an effort to transform software quality at the firm. This effort is anchored in each Line of Business by a dedicated Quality Assurance team of specialized resources who will outline and establish the positions, processes and controls necessary for a 21st century Quality Assurance culture.The Quality Assurance Architect is a key member of this team that will influence and drive process improvement across the firm in each Line of Business working closely with key LOB partners and FEA.

Role Description:The Quality Assurance Architect will possess the leadership, change management, and business planning skills required to successfully implement the firm wide QA strategy.
This role will facilitate governance and strategic improvements within the line of business by analyzing, building and implementing the tools and techniques best suited for the associated applications.
The QA Architect will be skilled in program and project test management and will drive organizational test strategy.

The Quality Assurance Architect will work closely and partner with the LOB Quality Control Director and aligned teams.
The QA Architect will also work closely with Firm wide Engineering and Architecture in order to advance firm wide Quality capabilities.

Responsibilities:Support the firm wide mission statement and strategy for Quality; and advance the strategy through implementation within the line of business.Assess test processes and tools in order to identify opportunities for improvement, automation or consolidation of test practices throughout the SDLC.Implement the tools necessary to advance testing quality within the LOB; train and transition new tools/processes to the Quality Control Director and QA testersDevelop test planning, execution, and reporting strategies in alignment with Business needs and firm wide standards.Establish Quality Plans for critical LOB initiatives and back it up with quality analytics.
Manage key relationships with business, technology, and corporate partners to facilitate effective communication, assess needs, understand requirements and priorities, and syndicate solutions.Evaluate and investigate new technologies in partnership with FEA to address specific LOB needs.Provide thought leadership on Quality Assurance process improvement opportunities.Critical Skills:Test management skills - Advanced ability to develop an organizational test strategy including human and technical resource requirements, schedule/forecast, quality controls, reporting and executive-level communication.Test automation skills - Experience in the analysis and development of a test automation strategy, tool selection and implementation.Technical skills - Experience in managing technical programs through the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of development, testing, performance and analytical software/tools/programs.
Familiarity of underlying architecture of applications including operating systems, servers, networking, clients, and browsers.
Project management skills - Proven ability to frame projects and establish the required governance to move projects forward, engage appropriate resources from within the line of business and FEA teams, and potentially external consultants or other support areas.
Change management skills - Experience managing large-scale change programs; managing risks, issues, and customer confidence.Client management skills - Advanced ability to closely partner with senior and line managers and other stakeholders on initiatives. Collaboration with senior and middle Technology and Operations managers, support areas, and business partners is critical for the successful integration of a standardized QA model.
Forecasting and planning skills - Scope and manage the test portfolio driven by the Line of Business priority while maintaining alignment to firm wide objectives and strategy.Problem solving skills - Superior ability to structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools, gain and synthesize insights and develop solutions.Communications skills - Strong written and oral executive-level communications skills; ability to analyze and report metrics, provide status reports, and financial assessments.
