X-Ray Technician - PD
Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray film. Performs routine diagnostic procedures. Takes, develops and stores patient film. Assists clinical and administrative personal by completing various forms and reports on patients. Files, locates, charts, logs, retrieves, and delivers patient record information. 1. Operates x-ray machine to perform routine diagnostic procedures. - Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays. - Follows established safety standards. - Observes patient vital signs during examination. - Decides length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. - Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination. 2. Develops and processes radiologic film. - Examines radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, magnification and distortion. - Prepares for delivery to radiologist for reading/interpretation. - Performs processor quality. 3. Maintains examination rooms and reception area. - Fills and restocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies. - Ensures radiologic equipment is clean. - Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception area. 4. Develops patient charts. - Assembles patient charts and repairs damaged charts. - Places records in patient charts and keeps proper order. - Pulls patient charts for appointments, completes medical forms and maintains patient charts. - Performs photocopying of records when requested with proper approval. 5. Assists with training and orientation for new employees. 6. Performs related duties, as required. Additional Requirments / Information
