Key Responsibilities:

·   Interact with customer to gather and define requirements from both a business and systems perspective by interpreting business needs and translating them to technical requirements and specifications to meet the need.

·   Review and respond to documented issues related to a project (through a help ticket or other written documentation) and define requirements to address the issue.

·   Train and develop junior team members in technical areas through one-on-one development and ensure all necessary data is provided to trainers.

·   Maintain status of SME on specific area of knowledge by researching and keeping current with new and anticipated technology within their area and related areas of expertise.

·   Implement components (e.g. program, specifications, order, build, etc.) for complex IT solutions for new business demands and maintenance of business.

·   Provide oversight of development work. Monitor the quality of the output to ensure end product meets required specifications.

·   Trouble-shoot more complex applications, infrastructure problems or other IT problem that may have a significant impact on the business.

·   Estimate time and materials costs plus all other elements of Project Initiation process for IT or business projects.

·   Govern or act as a gate keeper for the quality of the Corning systems.

·   Serve as the technical lead on projects by participating as project resource representing their team’s area of responsibility/area of expertise.

·   Provide input to developing and testing standards by making recommendations to the Infrastructure Review Board.

Required:

·   B.A. (in any field) or A.A. degree plus 1-2 years of relevant work experience

·   Relevant work experience in a corporate technical customer service environment

·   Experience in an enterprise setting - large sized and broad scope organization similar to Corning

·   Formally trained and/or certification in technical areas (e.g. Oracle, Cisco, SAP, Microsoft) more than just a one week type of certification (except for large suppliers

·   10 years relevant work experience in IT – in a large enterprise environment

Desired:

·   MS Office Suite proficiency

·   Manufacturing systems experience

·   Familiarity with Peoplesoft, Outlook

·   Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science

·   Worked for some period of time and demonstrated consistency in work; counted on to work with minimal supervision with quality and not rework and can manage parts of projects and are technologically competent

·   Experience in a role where there was a balance of emphasis on understanding and supporting the business with technology

·   Strong technical knowledge and skills
