Position Description:

The 3rd line engineer position is responsible for the support and implementation of a variety of systems and applications used throughout the business from the structured cabling to the enterprise applications. The 3rd line engineer will have responsibility for the resolution of tickets that get escalated from the Service Desk and the 2nd Line teams.

The 3rd line engineer will be expected to take a lead in a variety of projects sometimes working with our Project Managers to provide detailed specifications and work breakdown structures.
A detailed understanding of Windows Servers, VMware and EMC technologies is essential for the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the mentoring and support of the 2nd Line team.
The IT team is highly visible to the business therefore applicants need to have extremely well developed interpersonal and communication skills and be entirely customer focused. The IT team supports all employees so the ability to communicate with CXO's through to back office staff and developers is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain Troubleshoot Windows 2003/2008 Server environments
• Day to day management of VMware estate of 1000+ VM's and 50 hosts
• Troubleshooting and fixing of VMware problems
• Subject Matter Expert of London Netbackup System (System also includes: Data Domain SAN replication)
• SAN management - Clariion Celerra
Provisioning LUNs, SAN Replication, troubleshooting issues, FLARE/DART Upgrades
• Hardware Maintenance of Intel Systems, Clariion Celerra - disk replacements etc...
• Maintaining monitoring of CW Tech rooms
• Daily 3rd line audit checks and remediation's
• VM Provisioning and Management
• Purchasing IT server hardware/software
• Work with ISS segment to bring new projects through into Production
