65K - 75K --- QC LAB SUPERVISOR

Job Description: Job summary Plans, manages and supervises the day to day activities of the quality control laboratory and performs biological, microbiological, and chemical assay to assure that raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products are tested in an accurate and timely fashion. Summary of essential job functions Schedules testing/shifts and rotations Manages lab employee timesheets and tracks overtime Manages relationship with contract labs for outsourced testing to ensure tests are completed in a timely manner Performs raw materials and finished products testing with advanced instruments such as ICP-OES (Thermo iCAP), and genetic analyzer (ABI 3130). Develops and validates new analytical method as needed Supervises purchase of supplies and maintains laboratory inventory (instrument, reagents, gas, microorganisms, agar plates etc.) Keeps and organizes all lab related documents (test requests/results, calibration record, temp charts, instrument manuals/service report etc.) Reviews and evaluates all testing data and report Monitors and evaluates established protocols/SOPs and recommended changes as needed Trains or supervises training of other lab staff. Assists with non-conformity investigations, GMP compliance, and internal quality auditing Conducts out-of-specification (OOS) and atypical results investigation per SOPs and FDA guidance Performs other lab related duties as requested. Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field (Analytical Chemistry preferred) 3-5 years experience in a regulated QC Lab Supervisory experience in a GMP lab environment desired In-depth knowledge of the basic principles and laboratory applications of biology, microbiology, and analytical chemistry Experience with nutritional analysis of foods ICP-OES or ICP-MS analysis experience strongly desired Abilities required Good documentation skills required Good interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work a flexible schedule Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
