Ths is an entry-level position that provides opportunities for professional development in the areas of applied behavior analysis, human services and working with children with developmental disabilities.

Melmark is a not-for-profit provider of educational, residential, and; therapeutic services for children and; adults with developmental disabilities. Services are provided on our campus and;/or in community homes. Melmark is a unique and diverse environment to work in. Melmark is located in Berwyn, a beautiful suburb of Philadelphia (on the “Mainline”). 

ABA Counselor participates as a critical member of an interdisciplinary team (consists of special education teachers, behavior analysts, nursing, psychiatrist, and developmental pediatrician) and provides the direct services for children with autism, acquired brain injury, and other significant neurological disorders. Provides behavior analytic treatment services with the supervision and assistance of seasoned clinicians. Develops goals and programs that are appropriate to the ages and functionality of populations served.

Is responsible for teaching students functional living, socialization, recreation, leisure, and communication skills.

Case management responsibilities include regular contact with families regarding treatment, management and interpretation of behavioral data, and providing training to families and other caregivers for generalization of skills to new environments.

Writing requirements include the following: Annual assessments, Individual Program Plans (IPP), Bi-Weekly Clinical Review and progress notes.

This is an entry-level position that provides opportunities for professional development in the areas of applied behavior analysis, human services and working with children with developmental disabilities.

This is not a live-in position.

This position does involve working evenings and some weekends, as the ABA Counselor's provide services to the children when the children are not in school. The services are provided in the homes that are on our main campus. These campus homes may have anywhere from 10 to 14 students living in them. This position can work either full-time or part-time.

All Melmark employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more are eligible for full-time benefits.

Hours: 3:00PM-11:00PM(Weekdays) Weekends (7AM-3PM/3PM-11PM)
