ACA – Product Control recruitment

We are currently seeking an ACA-qualified Product Controller for our client; a global investment bank in the City of London

This position exists within the rates product control team supporting the fixed income derivatives business. The primary responsibilities of the product controller will be to:
- Provide an effective link between front office and product control, utilising specialist product knowledge and software skills to produce and summarise daily PL, investigate and resolve discrepancies, obtain front office sign-off and publish final reports
- Produce a justification of the PL via daily risk-based decomposition, and provide commentary on PL drivers
- Ensure immediate superiors are kept adequately appraised of pertinent issues and developments
- Produce month-end final revenue figures for the European rates business and to attest to balance sheet accuracy
- Take responsibility for monthly restatement of PL reports, ensuring consistency between official general ledger and daily PL reports

The product scope covers:
- Bonds/repos
- Single cross currency interest rate swaps
- FRAs
- Bonds
- Exchange traded futures future options
- FX spots forwards

The successful product controller will have the following necessary skills and qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
- Knowledge, exposure, or experience of the above products
- Excellent numerical skills
- Ability to problem solve in a logical manner
- Working to tight deadlines under severe time pressure
- Thorough, good communication skills, cool temperament, reliable
- Effective in allocating priorities
