ACA Qualified Product Controller for a Hedge Fund
Our client, a leading hedge fund manager, currently seeks a Rates Product Control, to be based in London
The Rates Product Control will be responsible for:
-Production of the daily Rates PL
-Production of the weekly and month end funds NAV and return estimates
-Involvement in the funds' month end process to resolve positional and valuation discrepancies ending with the review of the administrator's final NAV pack and allocation sheets.
-Ensuring the correct valuations are applied both intra-month and at month end to the portfolio securities and OTC / listed derivative products
-Providing ad hoc analysis and information on Portfolio Managers' / desk's performance and positions to senior management and to the desk themselves.
-Liaison with other internal teams to resolve PL issues and to take forward team level initiatives, always seeking continuous improvement of the firm's processes.
As such, the successful Rates Product Control will have the following skills and experience:
-The ideal candidate should have relevant post-qualified experience gained within an investment bank or other asset manager.
-The candidate's experience should be specifically within a rates product control team or similar. A very good understanding of rates products, valuations and trading strategies would be an advantage.
-The candidate must have very good grades in numerical subjects, a strong degree from a major academic institution and hold an accountancy qualification.
-The candidate should be able to demonstrate initiative, manage his/her time effectively, as well as being committed in balancing the needs of all stakeholders. Very importantly, the candidate should be able to work independently and be delivery focused. An ability to change from one process to another quickly and handle various ad-hoc requests is a must.
-High level of MS Excel experience is a requirement.
-Pro-active and strong interpersonal skills.
-Strong delivery track record
