Access To Care (ATC) Clinical Advisor – Wiltshire

Working with a leading, private medical company in Wiltshire, Hays Healthcare want to hear from registered nurses, therapists and paramedics with a desire to work as an Access To Care (ATC) Clinical Advisor.

Across a 30 hour week, the post holder will work a variety of shifts which will include evenings and weekends to provide advice on treatment/care pathways. These will be conducted via telephone to health and social care professionals in accordance with agreed care pathways.
This role will require some key relationships being established and maintained to facilitate the process, namely all members of the ATC and call centre staff. Externally with nursing, therapy, medical and other allied professionals related to the Neighbourhood Teams in addition to wider health community service users.

Key Responsibilities:
Working within the multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
· To provide clinical advice and support to health and social care professionals in accessing the most appropriate care pathway for their patients.
· To provide advice to patients and carers.
· To ensure the patient remains the central focus of all decision-making.
· To lead the clinical decision making within ATC taking into account capacity and constraints within the community

Candidate Specification:
Applicants to this role should adhere to the following:
· Be a registered Nurse/Therapist/Paramedic with evidence of ongoing professional development.
· Minimum of two years experience as a registered practitioner within a broad range of care.
· Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team (delivering care within a community setting is also desirable)
· The ability to forge and maintain effective working relationships with peers, colleagues, patients and their families.
· Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
· Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
· Ability to deal appropriately with challenging communication on the telephone including speech, language and hearing difficulties.
· The ability to be flexible and adaptable.
