Summary of ideal candidate: 

This candidate demonstrates a deep understanding of the complex sales process required for selling to Original Equipment Manufacturers, (OEMs), as well as channel management for technical product sales into industrial markets.  The primary responsibility of this candidate is to create and execute strategies to achieve significant growth in market share as well as support existing key accounts, (Tuthill expectation is 20% growth YOY min as an organization and that sales targets are hit 100%).  This candidate has a keen understanding of applications in the Medical Market, Heating/Cooling/Refrigeration, and Energy Power.  Proven product and market knowledge is essential. This candidate is expected to be a strong adherent to the Tuthill Business System and Conscious Company.

 

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

Ø  Aggressively prospect from Opportunity Matrix of key accounts to target and sell Tuthill products

Ø  Use Tuthill’s Selling Process to strategically plan and execute calls to land new business

Ø  Aggressively search for VOC opportunities to improve the fidelity of market/application knowledge and product offering

Ø  Lead or engage engineering group in LPD activities to support customer requirements

Ø  Sustain existing base of sales through excellent relationship management and customer satisfaction improvement targets

Ø  Manage sales funnel to ensure projects close to support monthly sales plan

Ø  Create and maintain a clear understanding of market specific or application specific customer values

Ø  Uses Tuthill Business Systems (TBS) and Conscious Company tools to accomplish duties and drive continuous improvements. 

 

 


Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:

Ø  Excellent relationship management and selling skills

Ø  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ø  Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of organizations

Ø  Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to customer requests

Ø  Creative and innovative problem solver

Ø  Willing to learn and adapt to changing environments

 

 

Education Requirements:

Ø  Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field/experience. 

 

Experience Requirements

Ø  Minimum five years related experience in selling technical products

Ø  Proven experience in selling fluid handling devices or rotating equipment preferred

Ø  Positive displacement pump experience ideal

Ø  Proven record of achievement of sales targets

Ø  Proven success specifying and selling to large engineering firms preferred

Ø  Experience with formal selling processes preferred

Ø  Understanding of TPS (Toyota Production Systems)/Lean Manufacturing desired

Ø  Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Ø  Strong leadership skills

 

Physical Demands:

Ø  Travel requirements (50-60%)

Ø  Daily Computer and phone use

Ø  Need to be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds
