Account Manager recruitment
Job Description:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing an assigned base of revenue from both Business Development Group (BDG) vendors and their associated end-users. The Account Manager is also responsible for assisting Business Development Managers with implementing new vendors. Account Managers carry both a revenue and a sales target.
- Coordination and Execution of Technical Strategy: Provide proactive service, coordination, and point of contact for all front-line interaction. Specifically, manage the testing and service implementations
- Creating Proposals and Contracts: With the involvement of the Business Development Manager and Director create Term Sheets, Services Agreements and Schedules.
- Communication with Clients: Interact with the account base to establish a professional and positive partner relationship with each account within the assigned territory, providing updates to key product/service enhancements through regular visits with clients.
- Qualifying and Execute Up-Selling Opportunities in current base: The exploration, recognition, and escalation of selling opportunities into the assigned account base.
- Document/Escalate Common Product and Service Enhancement: Elicit customer feedback and work to escalate common product enhancements, processes, and requested additional services.
- Manage/Execute Revenue Management and Communication Activities: Manage execution of price increases, revenue variance analysis, pipeline updates, problem deductions, reserves, etc.
Experience and Skills:
- 3-5 years Successful Customer Support or Account Manage Experience: This experience should be directly supporting customers in the financial services industry. Knowledge of global financial markets, financial instruments and related terminology. A proven record of customer relationship management and/or sales in a proactive, target driven environment.
- Strong Multi-tasking skills: Must be highly organized, independent thinker, able to prioritize.
- Strong Written and Verbal Skills: An out-going personality with excellent written and verbal skills is a necessity.
- Good Working Financial Market Products and Services Knowledge: Good understanding of Pricing and Reference and our competitor's core products. Knowledge of front-office, mid-office and back-office financial data and software applications.
- Strong relationship building skills (Both internally and externally): Specifically, having a proven record of being an excellent team player with good influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient at managing activities for accounts: Candidates must be comfortable taking initiative and ownership of the tasks. Also, candidates should be enthusiastic and project an image of a commitment to exceed performance expectations.
- Strong Work Ethic: Strong customer focused work ethic.
- Expert in Microsoft Office products
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
Preferred:
- Applicable or Additional Education: BA/BS in Economics, Finance, or candidates with an MBA
- Marketplace Experience: Experience dealing in the institutional and retail investment marketplace including banks, brokers, mutual fund and insurance companies and the data vendor community.
- Prior Account Manager Experience in the financial services industry
