Accountant – Funds and Planning recruitment

Key elements of the role include providing a full financial and management reporting service for 3i’s fund activities in India, producing regular forecasts of overall business performance and support to other projects within the team.

3i’s Infrastructure business line manages a $1.2bn infrastructure fund in India and advises 3i Infrastructure plc, a FTSE 250 listed company with a market capitalisation of c. £1bn.

As an Accountant your main responsibilities will involve:

• Managing the fund accounting and reporting process for the 3i India Infrastructure Fund. Including preparation and maintenance of financial records and production of accounts for the fund’s Limited Partnerships in compliance with IFRS, Partnership Agreements, regulatory requirements and tax legislation. Preparing fund investor reports and managing investor draw downs and distributions.

• Updating and maintaining forecasting models for 3i Infrastructure plc and the Fund, preparing annual budgets, and preparing ad hoc model outputs to support a range of business line and Group projects.

• Liaising with outsource providers on administration, accounting and other ad hoc tasks, especially relating to the Fund’s foreign-domiciled entities.

• Working with the Indian Infrastructure investment deal team to ensure supporting processes for investment and divestment activity and the ongoing management of each investment

• Assisting with structuring and other processes on future investment vehicles.

• Preparing carried allocation calculations and financial records and accounts for Infrastructure carry entities.

• Assisting with a range of business line remuneration processes.

• Assisting in ad hoc financial and operational projects for the Infrastructure business line.

• Liaising with HR, group finance, investor relations, tax and legal teams to ensure good inter-department communication, provision of relevant information as required and appropriate maintenance of key records.

As an Accountant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

• Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) with minimum of degree level education.

• Practical experience of fund and partnership accounting and processes within a Private Equity or Financial Services environment.

• Previous practical financial accounting experience, including tax and multi-currency transactions.

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Knowledge of accounting systems, and in particular Agresso, is an advantage.

• Relevant Infrastructure experience
