POSITION SUMMARY: Performs highly complex accounting tasks providing specialized analyses in various accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or Cost Accounting. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and recommends complex accounting systems, methods, procedures, and controls. Develops and/or modifies major policies and procedures for financial reporting and cost analysis in specialized areas. Provides support to mangers and employees with all aspects of accounting functions. Assists with formulating and installing policies and programs which enable the company to recognize economic opportunities and realize maximum benefit from such opportunities. Maintains appropriate project accounting controls to ensure compliance for revenue recognition and invoicing. Reviews, coordinates and provides documentation to support various internal and external audit requirements. Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures. Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organizations accounting operation. Provides team leadership for less experienced employees. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: Typically requires bachelors degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience. Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
