Accountant (Based in Singapore) recruitment

Our client, Stena Bulk is one of the world’s leading tanker shipping companies and provides safe and cost-efficient transports of crude oil and refined petroleum products at sea. Stena Bulk operates around 100 tankers from offices in 6 countries. As part of the Stena Sphere, which has more than 22,000 employees, Stena Bulk is managing everything from designing and building vessels, to manning and chartering them out. Stena Bulk is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden.   

Stena Bulk’s Singapore office is growing and to support the team they are currently looking to recruit their ACCOUNTANT

ORGANISATION:

The position is based in Singapore, and will report directly to the General Manager Head of Stena Bulk Singapore as well as functionally to the VP Group Financial Controller, based in Gothenburg. In this role you will actively engage in all aspects of shipping related accounting to ensure achievement of financial goals and accuracy of reporting.   

THE ROLE:

You will be involved in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management information, exercising all accounting controls and checks as per company policies and procedures. In detail your responsibilities entail:   

Cash flow management:  Plan and manage the company cash flow. Prepare cash flow and income statement and budgets for the business plan. 

Accounts: Handling of full set of accounts, perform general ledger, fixed assets and monthly closing, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions 

Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports compared to budget 

Audit management: Prepare and check relevant audit schedules; liaise with external auditors. 

Tax management: Ensure the company meets its obligations and deadlines of GST declaration and local taxation and liaise with tax agents   

THE PROFILE:

Strong educational background, preferably  holding a Degree in Accounting or Business Studies; ACCA qualification would be an asset   

Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably some of which is obtained in a shipping environment 

Knowledge of IFRS and local taxation 

Dynamic and outspoken individual who is motivated to join a fast-paced and small non hierarchal team
