Accountant Job in Berwyn 19312, Pennsylvania US
General Responsibilities
The Accountant is responsible for multiple balance sheet reconciliations, financial schedules and other duties as assigned to support the Accounting Manager and CFO in the day to day operations of the department.
Essential Duties:
- Completes the General Ledger monthly account reconciliations.
- Maintains the supporting schedules for organization’s annual audit-lease, loan, debt, and bond.
- Verifies and charges monthly lease, loan and debt payments against supporting schedules and amortization schedules.
- Records cash transactions and prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
- Follows up on outstanding checks-collaborate with Accounts Payable Coordinator to issue and follow up on escheat letters.
- Reconciles contributions with Organization Development Office, records and tracks spending for temporarily restricted contributions.
- Maintains Fixed Asset system utilizing FAS software. Generates monthly depreciation journals based on plant activity, purchases, retirements and construction in progress projects.
- Assists in the preparation of organization’s annual budget by compiling the capital plan and budgeting the appropriate depreciation expense, as well as revenue by program.
- Reviews and posts payroll entries from ADP.
- Prepares bi-weekly FTE report for distribution to operating departments.
- Assists in year-end audits.
- Completes special assignments as requested by the Accounting Manager or CFO.
- Cross trains and supports Accounts Payable, Payroll, or Accounts Receivable.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associate degree with 2 years related training or experience.
Certifications/Licensure: None
Skill(s): Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are an asset.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years related experience is preferred.
