Accountant (Reporting & Planning)

Function overview
The Finance function of Tata Steel Europe is in the process of implementing a new structure which is aligned with and can effectively support the new company operating model. This includes delivering a world class accounting, operational and analytical reporting service to UK and European business areas from a centralised department in Port Talbot. As a result, new vacancies have been created within this Accounting and Transactions Centre of Excellence.

Purpose/Responsibilities
The Accountant Hub Reporting Planning will be responsible for carrying out the core analysis and reporting for designated manufacturing businesses within Tata Steel Europe. This will include the collation and understanding of key performance indicators and their impact on the financial result, calculation of major stock provisions and supporting the forecasting and audit processes. The Accountant Hub Reporting Planning will also be involved in initially transferring work from existing sites into the department and then subsequently improving and standardising processes across the different businesses.

Person Specification/Requirements
Experience of variance reporting and involvement in business reporting and forecasts are all essential. Candidates must be capable of demonstrating business acumen and the ability to translate key physical factors into financial outcomes. Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion are beneficial. Candidates must be qualified with a recognised accounting professional body or ‘Qualified by Experience’ through extensive work in relevant roles.
