In-House International Tax Accountant

Working within the Central In-House Tax Team of an international law firm in Sheffield, you will assist the International Tax Manager and Senior Manager in maintaining and advising on international tax issues. Day to day responsibilities will include:

Update and maintain the International Tax compliance calendar.
Review/update territory summaries bi-annually.
Review proposed tax payments.
Review proposed tax return submissions.
Update, send and monitor completion of the quarterly tax checklist.
Monitor overseas tax enquiries
Review budgeted tax charges for management accounts and prepare variance analysis on a regular basis.
Assist local finance teams with the completion of the tax schedules in the consolidation packs.
Review tax schedules in consolidation packs prepared by overseas controllers.
Review draft tax computations.
Review deferred tax position for corporate entities.
Consider any deferred tax implications across the region in respect of group to local accounting policy differences.
Identify entities with excess profits for further consideration.
Assist on tax issues for secondees and co-ordinate secondees with the International Mobility HR team.
Assist in the preparation of local documentation in relation to Transfer Pricing.
Obtain and reconcile details of current tax reserving mechanisms for partners throughout the network.
Review and monitor tax liabilities in relation to anticipated profits for tax reserving purposes, as required for the position statements and liaise with the Partner accounting team regarding the completion of partners' drawings calculation.
Review partners' tax reserve accounts.

This is an excellent opportunity for ACA or CTA qualified tax professional who is keen to join a dynamic in-house tax team and develop their international tax experience. This would also suit candidates from an accounting background with some corporate tax exposure.
