Accounting Operations Manager
Attractive job opportunity in Watford working for a privately owned Business Services firm, specialising in the field of Professional Employment and Payroll Solutions. The business has doubled in terms of client numbers in the last two years. Their ambition is to double the size of the team again over the next three years.The job purpose of the role. The Limited company team numbers more than 30 individuals and requires leadership, technical expertise, service level maintenance and continual improvement in a very fast changing compliance landscape. The Head of Accounting Operations requires support in the running of the department, so that they can devote time to future acquisitions, business integrations, business and service development and other project work. They are also looking to strengthen their SME services offering. This is a key role in an ambitious, fast moving and fast growing business. You will have four team managers as direct reports, who in turn manage the accounting and administrative teams. The role is newly created as a result of recent acquisitions and the development and future development of new service lines. You will be supporting the Head of Accounting Operations , acting as ‘practice manager’ for the Limited Company team and ensuring that the technical knowledge of the team is kept up to date through training and mentoring. You will be providing advice as an expert for the team in the areas of financial reporting, tax and employment status (as applicable to IR35 and related regulation). You will be ACA / ACCA qualified with several years post qualification experience working in a practice / accounting services division dealing with small businesses and / or contractors.
