Accounting Policy/Disclosure Analyst, Major Investment Bank
Major Investment Bank based in the City are currently recruiting for a key member of their finance team. Working in a group reporting team that are responsible for the financial reporting, presentation and integrity for various business areas we are looking for a qualified accountant to support a cross product environment within IB which broadly includes Equities, Fixed Income and FX. This cross product environment will offer a challenging and dynamic environment operating with a number of key stakeholders including group finance, product control, accounting policy, finance change and operational risk.
Key role specifics include:
- Substantiation of the balance sheet and income statement lines to support the IB business division close.
- Taking ownership for ensuring that the key financial accounting and reporting controls are effective and in place.
- Challenging of existing close processes and controls and driving efficiencies in the team.
- Support line and business product controllers and the business in the understanding and analysis of the reported financial statements.
- Develop effective working relationships with line managers and colleagues.
- Promote improvements to systems and processes.
We need candidates to have an ability to understand accounting policy and review financial reporting but also have the ability to apply detailed technical understanding to practical situations. Candidates must have strong IFRS knowledge and will also be qualified, either ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
