The corporate world is also facing a major change in reporting requirements through the imminent changes to UK GAAP. Not only will their clients require accounting advice and support but they see this as a major external market opportunity.
 
In this context a vacancy has arisen for a Manager/Senior Manager to join the Milton Keynes and London team with a brief to assist the heads of each Accounting and Business Advisory department with the strategic development of the Firm's service offering.
 
In particular, their role will include:
 

  • To assist the partners maximise income through the separation of financial accounting and reporting advice and assistance as a service line discrete from audit.
  • Provide support to the teams in the delivery of technically complex accounting assignments including advice on the forthcoming changes to UK GAAP.
  • Assist the partners with marketing and business development initiatives including the external promotion of accounting and financial reporting advice and assistance.
  • Assist with the management and development of the teams to ensure they have the skills and resources to drive the achievement of financial targets and the firm's strategic goals.
  • Monitor and communicate the performance of the teams against target KPI's.
  • Assist with the quality control of the output from the teams including the implementation of the new manual and the promotion of efficient working practices, conducive to high quality work.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients to include a mix of accounts to audit and accounts only services. This will involve direct liaison with clients and internal departments, assisting with the management of the whole client assignment.

      About you
       
      ACA/CA/ACCA qualified

      Essential experience:
      Previous experience of operating at Manager or Senior Manager level, ideally with Audit experience and exposure to complex accounting matters.

      Proven experience in client handling.

      Strong oral and written communication skills.

      Ability to be proactive and support the teams on complex accounting matters.

      Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and to add value.

      Good organisational and time management skills.

      Desirable:
      Business development experience.
