Senior Credit Controller

An exciting, varied opportunity as arisen for a Senior Credit Controller to join a small accounts team based in Halifax.

Duties and responsibilities

Involving processing of payments; setting up of new accounts; establishing credit limits; fulfilling anti terrorist screening; chasing outstanding debts; supporting other functions of the finance department if and when required.  The key aspect of the job is to reduce outstanding debt, reduce risk to the company and improve working capital

Daily tasks:
Process payments received, both by cheque and by BACS.
Take cheques to bank.
Process credit card payments.
Take customers off stop who have brought their accounts up to date.
Chase outstanding debtors both before they become due and after.
Weekly
Produce debtors reports and overdue reports
Send chase letters to all overdue debtors
Revisit credit limits set on active customers1, based on latest credit reports and trading history, at least quarterly.
Monthly
Put customers on stop who have outstanding invoices more than 1 month past due2.
Send statements to all customers with outstanding amounts
Produce top 20 month end debtor’s reports
Remove credit limits for customers whom we have not dealt with in the last 24 months
