ACCOUNTS PAYABLE COORDINATOR/CLERK

Job Description Purpose: Monitors and maintains accounts payable functions in accordance with company policies and procedures. 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Must be able to work overtime. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Request new vendor setup. Receive, code and verify all documentation on vendor invoices. Enter data and maintain accounts payable files and records. Verify vendor statements and handle all correspondence involving accounts payable. Respond to vendor inquires via phone or email Assist in complaint resolution between vendor and customer. Must be able to perform a two- or three-way match with Purchase Orders. B atch invoices and forward to Shared Services Center (SSC). Verify SSC data entry and track payments. Gather US project expenditure data and report to overseas personnel. Research questionable or unsupported items. Respond to questions and/or issues from billing personnel. Assist with special projects as needed. Participate with development and updating of departmental policies and procedures. Review employees expense reports; identify and resolve discrepancies. Perform all tasks as assigned by the supervisor Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Completion of college accounting courses is preferred. Experience: One (1) to three (3) years experience working in the accounts payable field is required. Experience working in a Government project accounting environment is preferred. Specialized knowledge and skills: Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounts payable field. Must have high-level organizational and planning skills, so that work is managed efficiently and accurately. Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Word, Excel and other related applications. Must possess strong data entry skills. Must have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of employees. Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion. The ideal candidate will have confidence, strong organization and attention to detail skills, proven analytical and decision making abilities. Must be a team player.
