- We are the largest personal lines insurer in the UK. We sell and underwrite personal and business insurance over the telephone and internet, as well as through independent brokers and partnerships. Our wide range of businesses, including household names like Direct Line and Churchill, has helped us become the nation?s largest motor insurer, and the number one household insurer. Meanwhile, our international division also sells general insurance in Europe.
- To continue our great success story, we are looking for passionate and focused people to join us. Would you thrive on pushing boundaries in our competitive and fast paced environment? Can you balance a drive to succeed with a strong team spirit? Are you ready to help us achieve our vision to be the world's best insurer?

As part of this role you will be developing leading-edge reserving analysis for our portfolio of brands. You will be looking for ways to improve the modelling and data processes we use as well as implementing your models practically and accurately. Indeed, this will become even more important as the European Solvency II initiatives will apply to the whole of the industry.
- But that is not all you will improve. Seeking out new skills and actively learning from your team members you will always be developing ? while sharing your own knowledge and experience with others to see that everyone in our Division learns and grows together and of course we will support you through your actuarial education.
'Direct Line Group is a new organisation, with a clear vision: to be the best at everything we do. We are the number one motor and home insurer, making us the largest insurer in the country for personal customers . We’re home to some of the nation’s best-loved brands, including Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege, Green Flag, Tracker and NIG. And we’re growing internationally too.'
Our business stands on the threshold of an exciting and different future, separate from RBS Group. RBS is required to reduce its interest in our business so that it no longer has a controlling interest by 31 December 2013, and divest (relinquish) its entire shareholding by 31 December 2014. Before any divestment can occur we need to show to the satisfaction of regulatory bodies that we can function as a stand-alone business, a process we refer to as separation.
In February this year, we launched our new name Direct Line Group, which brought all our brands together – Direct Line, Churchill, GreenFlag, Privilege, Commercial and Brand Partners that will strongly represent us in the market on our journey to building Britain's best retail general insurer
We have successfully completed employee consultation on our new terms and conditions as Direct Line Group and we have designed a reward proposition that is performance related, transparent, fair, simple and robust.
We are now issuing new Direct Line Group contracts to all our people which we anticipate will come into effect on 1 June 2012. If you are joining us before the 1st June we will also need to provide you with an RBS Insurance contract which will be superseded when the Direct Line Group contract comes into effect.
