Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates, which houses all non-medical support departments that are not provided at the affiliates. It provides expertise and guidance to support affiliate functional departments.
The Administrator plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the activities for the clinical and business operations of the facility.
Education:
Must have a valid current license to practice nursing in the State of California.
- A California Registered Nursing license
- Bachelor of Science is Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and directly-related work experience is required. .
Knowledge:
Must have the demonstrated knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to tactfully direct the efforts of diverse health professionals to meet patient and physician needs
Must have working knowledge of regulatory, licensing, certification and accreditation (State, CMS, CDC, DEA, OSHA, CLIA, AAAHC).
Extensive knowledge of AORN Standards, infection control and sterilization practices are required.
- Current knowledge regarding instrumentation, equipment and supplies utilized for various surgical specialties is required, as is knowledge of the types of surgeries being performed at the Center.
Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, quality measurement and data analysis.
Experience:
Significant experience working in multi-specialty ORs, such as typically obtained in approximately 5 years is required.
Must have administrative and OR managerial experience as typically obtained in approximately 2-3 years in an ambulatory or outpatient surgery setting.
Requires experience in policy program development, implementation, administration and leadership in Risk Management, Quality Improvement, Infection Control, and Safety
Materials management experience is preferred, including application of purchasing processes to order the supplies and equipment required for surgeries being performed at the Center.
Requires experience in program/ process development, implementation and administration.
- Previous experience with start-up surgery projects preferred.
Skills:
- Project management skills necessary to implement the required elements of developing a new surgery center into operations.
Must have leadership skills, along with skills in supervision/ delegation and human relations.
- Must have strong problem identification, analytical, resolution skills to make good clinical business decisions
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications are required.
Must have well-developed team-building and conflict resolution skills.
Must be a flexible, creative individual who is open to change and has the ability to effectively handle multiple and at times conflicting priorities.
ACLS/PALS required.
Requires the ability to operate and trouble-shoot clinical equipment.
- Possess strong public speaking skills and ability to deliver effective presentations and education to staff, physicians, and leadership.
- Ability to set priorities and adeptly handle demands of the role, including multiple and shifting priorities.
