Team/Department Overview:
Develop advertising strategy for the APAC region. Plan and implement all forms of advertising inclusive of brand, capability, divisional, segment, products, sponsorship and tactical advertising.
Brand design – perform corporate identity corporate design (CI/CD) coordination for APAC.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with the Divisions marketing departments, Corporate Communications and other internal partners in the Divisions to develop advertising plans.
• Work with the ad agencies (Media Vest, Publicis) and suppliers (as relevant) to develop appropriate effective creative solutions, and implement media plan for APAC.
• Implement proper budget files and accounting records. Update internal accounting system (Optima) and the marketing work place (MWP online system). Coordinate with ad agencies to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payment.
• Actively contribute in the development of innovation programs to deliver the Content Strategy, implement programs.
• Provide CI/CD regional coordination. Be entirely familiar with the Brand Design guidelines
• Provide advertising administration support, including timely update of monthly status reports and CN reports, organise ad files on shared drive, tear sheets, etc, keeping the day-to-day advertising operation running in good order.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following or a strong desire to develop within the following areas:
• Strong advertising specialist skills, ideally more than ten years of consistent relevant professional experience either at an international advertising agency, a corporation or media owner. Possess sound advertising creative and media knowledge, and the new media. Marketing and communications experience will be an advantage.
• Able to evaluate media proposals and with strong knowledge of media (print, digital, TV, OOH inclusive) across the APAC region.
• Good knowledge of digital media (new media), have a creative mind and understand the idea of innovation.
• Knowledge of Asia Pacific markets, particularly of Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Pan-regional media (these are the priority 1 markets for advertising and branding investment)
• Knowledge of financial industry, the HNWI segment and the luxury brand category is an advantage. Have a strong interest to learn about competitive landscape and the UBS business. Be globally aware in terms of the changing financial category.
• Have a strong desire to study the UBS business, especially the wealth management and the HWNI target audience group.
• Knowledge of sponsorship is an advantage esp. arts culture and F1 (which are UBS sponsorship platforms)
• Well organised, good time management, focused, detail oriented, accurate and clear in communication.
• Ability to apply good judgement and sound general marketing sense.
• Understand research e.g. marketing, consumer, brand, advertising, content (media consumption) types of research. Able to apply learning to advertising work.
• Experienced to collaborate and work effectively with ad agencies, and internal external partners.
• Is an excellent communicator (verbal, written) and with good presentation skills.
• Able to write advertising briefs and proposals.
• English and Chinese fluency – verbal and written Chinese Mandarin is required.
• Service oriented, good listening skills, able to understand needs issues; and is collaborate and find appropriate solutions.
• Team player - work well with people at all levels, particularly peers and ad agencies. Feel comfortable dealing with seniors.
• Be “brand” focused, willing to become a brand design CI/CD expert as well as a “lead” brand ambassador.
