Function: Finance Centers of Expertise Family: Strategic Pricing What Strategic Pricing contributes to Cardinal Health Strategic Pricing is responsible for developing, communicating and leading the execution of business and marketing strategy and customer profitability management through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. Serves as an effective liaison with senior executive management, marketing, legal, finance, sales and IT. What is expected of you for success in your role Demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and experience with pricing processes, systems and controls and the impact on value-capture Demonstrates advanced knowledge of deal economics, deal modeling techniques, and pricing strategies Demonstrates advanced knowledge of how to apply and execute pricing science in order to optimize value capture Performs intermediate pricing science analysis and makes reocommendations Works independently and generates conclusions around data to drive process improvement, systems improvement, greater profitability, and/or increased accuracy in support of pricing strategies Creates, synthesizes, and leverages advanced profitability analytics and customer/competitor intelligence, and customer segmentation strategies to create pricing strategies Looks beyond conventional processes and/or systems to interpret customer needs and business challenges and assess requirements Identifies solutions to non-standard customer requests and shares key learnings with others Develops process/system improvements and drives implementation of solutions Independently executes new pricing strategies Some interaction with other parts of the organization on deal management, to include effective communication of profitization opportunities Summarizes analysis and makes recommendations What is expected of you and others at this level in Finance - Center of Expertise for functional success Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces Uses deep subject matter/functional expertise, influence and process skills to help internal/external customers and stakeholders identify and meet their high priority needs while considering cultural and diversity implications. Proactively develops and maintains technical knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up-to-date on current trends and best practices; Accountabilities in this role Effectively integrate market research studies, computer modeling, and databases to identify and capitalize on customer and/or product opportunities. Analyze and review all current pricing policies and strategies and work with the Director of Strategic Pricing to identify sales and margin opportunities and risk. Collaborate with both Sales and Customer Teams to ensure current SOURCE programs are competitive and develop tools to effectively communicate our position in the market. Manage Pricing Guarantees. Manage Most Favored Customer Pricing. Responsible for several monthly pricing reports. Help develop Dashboard and Alert Reporting. Help develop new carve out strategy for warehousing chains. Ad Hoc reporting and analyses as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related degree is required Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field Prior pricing experience and/or experience within the generics industry a plus Strong analytical skills with some experience in building financial or analytical models Ability to pull and manipulate large amounts of data from proprietary systems Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise Requisition ID : 12002360 Primary Location : Ohio-Dublin-Cardinal Place Travel : Yes, 5 % of the Time Schedule : Full-time Job Posting : Mar 5, 2012, 12:22:08 PM
