GENERAL SUMMARY The Advisory Account Technology Consultant (Adv. ATC) is a high level pre-sales resource who focuses on the customers business issues and translates those imperatives into solution sales campaigns that are consistent with EMC's strategic business focus. By applying EMC and Storage Industry related technical acumen, relationship development, and consultative selling skills, this position will spearhead our transition to a solutions-based engagement model. Working in conjunction with other ATC/CSL's/Account Executives, a Adv. ATC leverages appropriate EMC offerings and expertise to objectively address customer needs in an effort to become their trusted advisor. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Aligns with appropriate sales geography to represent EMC Solutions (TS and Partner) to all assigned accounts. Uses knowledge of the customers business, technology, products, processes, industry expertise, competitive products and consultative sales skills to assess and educate customers on value of storage infrastructure and management. Builds in-depth knowledge of clients technical and business priorities, challenges and initiatives that can be translated into EMC solution opportunities. Responsible for delivering both core implementation solutions (Build) as well as incremental consulting solutions (Plan and Manage). Ensures effective coordination and support between account teams and supporting technical resources. Responsible for the coordination, delivery and quality of presales Technology Solutions deliverables within the domain of the account which may include items such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposal inputs. Exercises and manages the process of forecasting and retiring booked solutions business within assigned accounts. Builds value-added relationships within the domain of the account to become the trusted advisor. Responsible for developing and proposing technology solutions that meet customers needs. Ensures that proposed solutions when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer. Assists with accounts and shares best practices both within and outside the local geography. May perform other duties as required. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired. Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter.
